LIZ SIMCOCK
Talented contemporary singer/songwriter. Del boys favourite.

Liz Simcock has been writing songs and performing them in acoustic and folk clubs for the last seven years. In 1999 she featured on the Playpen Album of New Acoustic Music alongside Eliza Carthy, Billy Bragg, Eddi Reader and Kathryn Williams. Rock'n'Reel described her as a "revelation", dubbing her "a (warmer) June Tabor". Promotional tours of Britain and Italy followed. Liz's first album Seven Sisters Road was released in 2001 and features guest artists Dave Ellis (guitar), Jake Walker (viola) and Sarah Barton (cello). A new album is currently in production and will be available in Autumn 2004. When not performing solo Liz is joined by guitarist Warwick Jones and bass player Ian Newman. She counts Richard Thompson, Clive Gregson, Boo Hewerdine and Joni Mitchell amongst her main songwriting rolemodels.
